Drift away on Uta Habbig’s dreamy, sublime serenade, ‘All That I Can See’!
Its simplicity is seriously underrated. When an angelic voice, stirring piano harmonies and a compelling melodic narrative come together, this is the kind of magic that’s possible!
The NYC based multi-dimensional artist, Uta Habbig, seamlessly fuses elements of folk, classical and jazz through her arrangements in ‘All That I Can See’, taken from her latest album release, ‘Another Sky’
The track opens with deeply moving, reflective piano tones played by American jazz pianist Glenn Zaleski and Uta’s enchanting voice, inviting you into her world, endearingly.
She sings of the awe-inspiring sights, smells and sounds of everyday life and drifting between places, far and near, and periods of light and dark. Listening to her simple, yet touching, vocal melody evokes a truly transcendent feeling. One where you’ve drifted away from the, often self-imposed, burdens of everyday life and now, instead, are able to find magic in all we perceive.
At close to 5 mins runtime, ‘All That I Can See’ is beautifully composed and paced, flowing at a soulful, unhurried tempo. Halfway in, Uta ascends into heavenly territory. Her vocals, expertly layered, crescendo towards the high notes, patiently guided by the twinkling piano tones. It’s a special, special moment and feels like a glorious, golden, sunlit ascension, a moment of enlightenment.
There’s a kind of timeless symphonic magic created by Uta & Glenn within this masterful opus. Its effects can be definitely felt long after the track gracefully concludes. This is definitely one to come back to, a remarkable experience where the listener can lose themselves and, at the same time, find something personal and meaningful.
