Arson Whales are a psycho-electric synth-rock band. They have a way of blending vintage aesthetics with contemporary design to create a fantastic cerebral sonic loop. The four-piece output are ardent pursuers of outworldly adventure, that they conceptualize with music, proclaiming themselves to be ‘semi aquatic terrestrials floating on the scene’. Their quirkiness is underpinned by psychedelic antiques and trippy visuals. The band recently put out their debut LP, titled, Galactopus. Across eleven tracks, they blend color with vacuous spaces, funky effects, and dream sensibilities to fathom an immersive space odyssey. Listeners of Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, and the like are sure to enjoy the exuberant explorations of this band.
Taken from this album is Zephyr & Sycophant. The track is a fluid melodic progression. It is amazing how they phase rock elements into experimental scapes with cosmic sound effects, dance beats, gleaming synths, and mellow vocals. On the face of it, the track is incredibly chill and buoyant, but each cycle is layered with progressive detailing and fresh sonic fusions. It’s as if the band set up a universe with the song whilst simultaneously discovering its marvel with emotion, imagination, and creativity. It is storytelling at its best.
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
