Casual Americans is a Greek-based alt rock and indie banner. The band explores a spectrum of rock, driving it with notions of pop, folk, blues, and singer-songwriter. Founded and led by multi-instrumentalist Justin Reynolds, they debuted in 2021. Their sound is fluid, effortlessly adapting to conceptual and thematic moods, tones, and demands. This versatility is what makes them a wonder. Inspired by bands like The Beatles, The Kinks, Beach Boys, and The Byrds, they swing from folk rock to pop rock and modern rock soundscapes. The band has just released their self-titled EP; a ten track collection that marks their sonic brand. Diversities show up as subtle nuances and drastic demeanours. But it is definitely a core element of their sound.
Taken from this album is the track, ‘Cowards’. It has a very enjoyable 00s aesthetic that is peppered with moments of 60s and 70s folk rock. The pop is a shining feature, slathering the rock elements to create both depth and height of feeling. You’ll see shades of bands like The Neighbourhood, The Arctic Monkeys, and strangely enough a low key Tame Impala as well. Listen Now!
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
