German-based indie rock band, Cirkle TwentyTwo, have just put out their debut single, ‘Last Call For A Burning Star’. Their style forms along the edge of 90s melodic rock, mostly reminiscent of The Smiths. But they add moody, mellow alt elements to it to make it into a more complex and resonant soundscape.
The bass grooves are textured and prominent, forming a bold foundation to build on. Apart from this, it also serves a thematic purpose, in terms of the pace it sets, depth it creates, and the backdrop it provides. Across this, the riffs are fuzzy and free, intuitively forming. But the vocal line is experimental. It is mercurial, burning with chaotic passion. In this element, the song leads us to think of artists like David Bowe and Freddie Mercury. Artists that boast a charismatic glamor, an artistic individualism that changes the course of the composition altogether.
The track also has an angsty pulse, aligning with the angsty dimensions that the 70s and 90s have in common. It is unpredictable, youthful, and so full of passion. If you enjoy interesting alt rock flows that borrow from rock decades across the 20th century, then these guys are definitely for you. Listen Now!
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
