Daffodildos have, by now, acquired a reputation for ambiguity. Skating across the alternative plane, they revive the defiant spirit and culture of 90s music. Their soundscapes are marked by boisterous energy, so vibrant, chaotic and impossible to ignore. The rhythm, the speed, the texture, the stimulation. It is all there. And you can’t help but get hooked. There’s of course their love for absurdity that is so absolute that it paralyzes your sense of reality. Their single, ‘Ba Ba Ba Da’ (taken from the latest Not My Cup Of Tea EP) is quite disorienting, edgy, and subversive, and cynical.
The track is high punk, like 90s on drugs. Its rhythm is high momentum, stringing along your consciousness, dragging it like a kite until suddenly you’re flying. The vocals are just as rowdy, with an attitude inspired by the 70s. You’ll see a shimmer of The Bangles in it; aesthetically. There’s psychedelics, there’s provocation, and a building pressure. It’ll feel like it is railroading the consciousness, and then suddenly there is liberation and power, and so much fun. Listen Now!
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
