Darkpines and Brother’s Cricket are two longtime friends and sonic collaborators. Their ideas, influenced by times spent tougher, common experiences and memories, tie into their latest EP, ‘The Vacation Pack’. Across eight tracks, they explore the excitement, tedium, mundanity, and joy of traveling and vacationing with friends and family. The tracks carry the mood, feelings, sentiments in the melodies, rhythms, beats, and textures. Vivid and visual, they coalesce into frames of hooky pop, fuzzy rock, and synth-tinged storytelling. There’s a lot of concept going into it, layered through moments of sonic experimentation, exploration, and enunciation.

The track, ‘Ankle Deep’ is one of the synth driven, eclectically designed and progressively layered compositions in the album. It’s a blurry blend of vocals, harmonies, bass grooves, synth notes, chamber pop, and indie rock. The textures mingle and mix with the changing tonalities and moods of the song; perhaps presenting the dynamism, activity, and many simulations that you encounter on vacations. It’s deliberately chaotic, but as you get into the track, you’ll start to pick up on patterns and flows much like when you’re in a new place. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
