fxrrsvt (pronounced ‘forest’) is an indie rock duo hailing from Canada. Their soundscapes diffuse an alternative sense of reality, or rather create it within the sphere of objective reality. They bring the awkward, whimsical, and emotional experiences of a queer person to mainstream media, by creating a sonic culture around it. With mellow flows, warm tones, and dreamy textures, they drift back into turn of century indie rock that is reminiscent of The Smiths, The Strokes, Modest Mouse, and The Neighbourhood.

Their latest single is ‘Lavender’, a track that spreads out with an intimate, small town aesthetic. It is mellow, dusky, cozy like twilight. The artists using dazing textures, almost shoegaze flows to encircle the soundscape in a romantic aura. And in this setting, the emo vocals gain a refreshing dimension. There’s a sense of youth, softness, and nostalgic sentiments attached to the color lavender. The complexity of the hue is so elegantly transferred to sonic form with moments of contemplation, expression, and vulnerability. Listen Now!
