Gary Dranow and The Manic Emotions have just gotten a little more versatile. Following the full release of their debut album, Destiny Road, the band has embarked on writing, recording, producing, and releasing the next album titled, Never Give Up. The double album is all set to revise the range of the band, confirmed to cover several genres from blues, soul, alternative, and hard rock across twenty four tracks. It is a cross-continental effort, as the Utah based Gary Dranow collaborates with multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Chris Zoupa (Teramaze) of Melbourne. This latest single, Golden Child, is the first track from the album.
Its lilting blues-scented soul rock tells the story of a family who adopts a daughter and how it transformed their lives. Incredibly soulful and touching, the track incorporates mellow country styles within the rock framework. The lyrics illustrate the devotion and adoration of the new parents, “She’s our golden child, she’s our wonder child, not quite a year since she made this house her home”. The loose string of riffs spread out, their luminous tips picked up by the buoyant vocals. And an upscale shift at the bridge leads into a glassy blues climax of dreamy proportions. Listen Now!
