Yet another addition to The Destiny Road Album, The Day I Was Born is a flamboyant exhibition of blues rock by Gary Dranow and The Manic Emotions. If you’ve been around here for a while, y’all know that we, at Good Music Radar, are big fans of the artists, especially in their interpretation and delivery of blues rock. And this track does not disappoint. With charismatic retro vocals sailing across the forming riff landscape, it is almost impossible to contain it within the psyche cavity.

It is truly spectacular how the artists bend the boundaries of the rock genre to fit the blossoming narrative and mood of the track. The cyclic riff-beat-accordion motif creates a prominent blues dimension that is only elevated by the vocals. Rock n Roll soliloquies are used to change up the rhythm and build character between the verses. Its subtext is left open to interpretation as it flies into the mind and spreads infectiously. Listeners of Elvis Presley and Mick Jagger are sure to enjoy the blues carrying on in this track.

The track is available for streaming on popular websites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
