In Season is an indie/ alt rock band from San Diego, California. And true to their origins, their tracks have a sun-washed, salty and sultry atmosphere. They employ the dazing fluidity of the indie rock genre, cultivating it with youthful sentiments, bluesy vocals, and pastel imagery. That vintage California rock smacks, but also alongside a modern day Beach Boys sound. The band debuted earlier this year with their moody, sun-tinged rock. They have now released a sophomore single, ‘On and On’. Crunching with texture, light with acoustic rock, and a feel-good beat, it is perfect to have playing in the background while driving though in a convertible.
The track is charming in its youth, scintillating in the quaint sentiments, and just refreshing in its atmosphere. The riffs are fuzzy, the beats form in pairs, and the bass is a brimming entity. And once you fall into the simplicity of the vocals, everything just nicely wraps up. The one dimensional, monotonal baritone is incredibly endearing as it passes through the many shades, hues, features, and feelings of the soundscape.
