‘Play Time’ is the latest single from indie band, Kolbak. Infused with eclectic rock styles and structures, you’ll spot references to The Beatles, The Doors, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and even Radiohead. Imprints of Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, and even The Strokes form in passing. In concept, it is an evolving track that mutates through time and technique.

The transitioning starts with the vocals and spreads to the chroma, texture, and sentiment of the instrumentation. Familiarity is contrasted with mild bouts of experimentation. Sometimes it’s in the melody line or the vocals, and other times, you’ll probably catch it in the progressive drum beats.
