Love Ghost ’s melodic melancholy blooms with yet another fresh perspective in his latest track, Payback. After his last collaboration with punk artist BInko, I for one was looking forward to the next thing. And this track made in collaboration with solo artist, Swedish producer and singer-songwriter Tim Skold does not disappoint. The bold strokes of Skold’s corrosive industrial metal bring a tangible and immersive darkness to the Love Ghost’s signature emo style. You can’t help but feed on the aggression and explosive resentment that bloom through the bones of the song. It is nuclear and iconic. 

Skold’s sonic tenacity is incredibly rewarding, as it grabs and brings to the forefront the alter ego of the resigned protagonist. His strident riffs, punk beats, and metallic growls propel the track with chaotic intention before being diffused. Its inflamed tendrils burn through sanity. The track has a deliberate extremity to it, stylised with contrasting temperaments and personalities. A dual insanity of sorts that sources its power from revenge, agony, heartache, and tragedy.
