Mal is a progressive rock band that specializes in crafting dark and surreal soundscapes. Using subdued pallets of sound, gloomy textures, and a drawing rhythm, they achieve magnificent dimensional splits that make the mind travel. In their latest release, Besides, Mal employs spraying riffs, glowing basslines, and hypnotic vocals that categorize the track with the irreverent work of bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and The Doors.
The track evokes an outworldly emotion. With its dark rock canvas dripping with blues and psychedelics, the imagery it manifests is profound. Melodies rise like black vapors, blooming with the electric bursts of the bass lines. Strung together by the sincere vocals and poetic lyricism, the whole track presents like a storm cloud, swirling with premonitive patterns and obsidian emotions.
Formed in 2012, Mal is composed of former members of the underground rock movement. The three piece outfit includes acclaimed drummer of the well-known hard rock band, Boy Hits Car, Brendan Reynolds, alongside one of LA’s best songwriters, Kristopher Jung on the vocals and guitar, and Peter Hollywood on the bass.
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
