SIR-VERE is an electro punk-rock band whose musical style is a juncture where gritty punk rock meets the symmetry and energy of house and techno. Blending edgy beat convolutions with memorable riffs and acid vocals, the band’s soundscapes are alight with potent combustibility. And the resulting patterns stunningly dimensionalize the track, giving its theme a little more clarity and immutability. In their latest track, Destroya (taken from the Lovescope album), SIR-VERE brings the story, the action, the resolve, the danger, the anticipation, and the climax of the theme. Their style is unlike anyone or anything that the listener might have encountered. It drips with individuality and a startling progressiveness. The more you listen to them, the more their idiosyncrasies and uniqueness is unveiled.
Destroya opens with resonant bass lines that are progressively edged by active electro beats. The inflection-less vocals drift through the soundscape, unaffected by the vigor of its backdrop. Its lyricism, however, defines the sonic elements. A rock frame materializes midway, with its reverberating riffs carrying the molten tongue of the soliloquy. It is fantastic how with crisp and sharp turns, the band takes the track to new directions, never lingering, and not giving it all away till the end.
