North Carolina-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chuck Phillips has just released his brand new double single, War Of The Worlds/ Long Love. The indie-rock artist has a way of drawing us into a surreal state of mind. And that’s exactly what he does with the a-side track, War Of The Worlds. Built using a recurring guitar motif, the song was written and recorded on his mom’s 1970’s era Alvarez classical guitar. It is conspicuously drenched in melancholia arising out of the matte textures and vintage filters.

Listening to the song, pastel colors like powder blues and sunset purples rush into the mind. And the warm baritones are as light as floating clouds, sailing through the cyan skies. Listeners of Arcade Fire are sure to enjoy the visual sonics that make up this track. If War Of The Worlds is mellow, Long Love is vibrant and bold. Its loud accents, block beats and chunky vocals is an abject contrast to its counterpart. Chuck Phillips debuted in 2018 with his EP, Tragic Beauty and has since released an album, Act I: Scene II, a Christmas song, Christmas in Carolina, in addition to this double single.

The track is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
